Betül Ertem Yıldız joined BDO’s Istanbul office in 2022 and currently serves as a Partner responsible for Digital Services at BDO Turkey. She played a key role in establishing the GRC practice within the firm.

She graduated from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Middle East Technical University in 1992. She holds a master’s degree in “European Studies of Society, Science and Technology,” a joint program between Istanbul Technical University and Linköping University.

She started her career at NTTI-Bilvak as part of the operations team for Turkey’s first Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) system. She then held consultancy roles at Sybase Turkey and Microsoft Turkey, primarily serving clients in the finance and telecommunications sectors.

Between 2008 and 2022, she founded and led Karya Bilişim Ltd. Şti., delivering consulting, training, and audit services in the fields of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) to large-scale organizations in Turkey and abroad. As a contracted auditor and trainer for BSI Eurasia, she provided implementation and lead auditor training programs, as well as certification audits, in areas such as information security, personal data management, business continuity, and IT service management systems across Turkey, the Middle East, and Europe.
